Fall hair care

Embrace the Season

As the leaves change color and the air turns crisp, it's time to switch up our hair care routine to adapt to the fall season. Just like our skin, our hair needs extra love during this time of the year. With the right care, you can maintain healthy, hydrated hair. So, let's dive into some essential tips on how to care for your hair during the fall months.

During fall, the air tends to be drier, which can lead to hair becoming brittle and prone to breakage. To combat this, make sure to keep your hair hydrated. Opt for a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that will nourish your strands without feeling heavy. Also consider incorporating a deep conditioning treatment into your self care routine once a week to provide an extra boost of moisture.

Fall weather can be unpredictable, with wind, rain, and even humidity making an appearance. Not to mention being in and out of your car when the heat is blasting. To shield your hair from these elements, oil your ends daily and consider wearing a hat or a scarf when you're outside. If you're using hair accessories, make sure they're gentle on your hair to avoid any breakage.

As the temperature drops, it's essential to adjust your styling tools and techniques to prevent unnecessary damage. Lower the heat settings on your hairdryer, straightener, or curling iron to minimize heat damage. For fine hair, keep it under 300 degrees and for medium hair 350. Remember to always always use a heat protectant before styling. Additionally, try to limit the use of these tools as much as possible, allowing your hair to air dry or opting for heatless hairstyles instead.

Healthy hair starts from within, so pay attention to your diet and overall well-being. Incorporate foods rich in vitamins and minerals, such as smoothies and make sure you’re getting an adequate amount of protein for your body weight. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, (using a straw always helps me drink more!) as this will not only benefit your hair but also your skin and overall health. Remember, a balanced diet and self-care routine will reflect in the health of your hair.

Fall is the perfect time to cut off what doesn’t serve you. Schedule regular trims to maintain healthy hair growth. Trimming not only keeps your hair looking fresh but also prevents split ends from traveling up the hair shaft, leading to further damage. A little trim can go a long way in maintaining the overall health and appearance of your hair.

Healthy hair fall is the move.

By following these simple tips, you can ensure that your hair remains healthy, vibrant, and full of life throughout the fall months. Remember to hydrate, protect, adjust, nourish, and trim to keep your locks looking their best. Happy fall! Reach out to me if I can help.
